My project

This is my final and my progress picture for my project.
My process in creating my letter was first brainstorming what my concept and letter was going to be. Finally, when I came up with my idea, I then had to brainstorm ideas for different types of materials I wanted to use. I decided on using the chalk for the smoke and the markers for the borders and nose. I found this process helpful because it let me have an organized project and I finished it in time for the deadline.
I arrived this this concept because I really thought trying to make smoke would be a challenging but fun idea. I then chose the letter "s" for smoke but also because I thought it tied into the concept well.
The most challenging aspect of this project for me was the blending of the smoke and the red background. I wanted to make the smoke as realistic as possible, without being messy. This was challenging because the media I chose to use is very messy and can spread to unwanted parts of the page of i wasn't careful.
I am incredibly satisfied with my project. I really liked how the nose and the smoke came out. I also liked how the s still looked like an s but it also fits into the picture naturally.
If I could change one thing, I think I would fix the nose. The nose was really hard for me to draw so I think o would focus more on the nose and maybe use a different material for it. Otherwise, I'm very happy with my project

  2. I love the way the smoke is blended out! You completely captured the essence of your theme "s for smoke"! One of my favorite parts is the pot on the bottom, awesome job!

  3. I really like your project! It came out so well. I like the smoky effect. It adds a nice texture and depth. The pink background reminds me of a flamingo.

  4. I think your design was really distinct and cool. I could see your letter in a soup commercial just because it reminded me of smelling soup from a pot and the smell hits your nose andI think you got the exact picture of this. If you would do the whole alphabet it would be good to focus on smell and have each letter represent something you can do. Really excellent job!

  5. The first Draft was light and very open while the final draft has more color and depth because of the red color smoothing across the paper. Very interesting way to protray the letter S through smoke.

  9. i think you did a really nice job of creating the smoke effect with the pastels because of the fact that it actually looks like smoke, also it was a good idea to add the background color because it brings out the smokey effect of the letter. Also your concept was interesting and creative as well, nice job brahh

  10. awesome project, I'm curious why you chose the red border? I think your process for making the smoke was well done. Also what is the smoke coming from?

  11. Very nice concept and final piece. Very good choice to use the pastel in order to create the smokey feature. I also like your details with things other than the letter such as the cooking pot and the stove and the nose to top it all off. Very well done.

  12. Cool design! I like how you used the light red in the background to make your letter stand out more. I'm wondering why you chose to make a bold red border?

  15. The concept behind this is crazy I am really liking it. I feel like it could even serve as an advert for people to retire smoking with a couple touches!
