What goals are the swim team trying to achieve? For swimmers to get their best times and to win meets
Is it open to any female or is it any preference? Open to just females
Is it a competitive sport? Yes, we compete against other teams in the PSAL league
Is it a fun and happy team or a mor serious and determined one? It is a mix of fun and competitive. Most of the swimmers are new to competitive swimming
Name of swim team? Girls' Swim Team
If you had a logo to represent the team what would you have in the image? Not sure.
What is the best part of the team? Girls are becoming better swimmers and have a fun oppportunity to be a part of an athletic team.

The Millennium High School Swim team is specifically for females with swimming abilities that could benefit the team success in meets and tournaments. This dynamic team is a well equipped team in terms of talent and the swimmers are driven with the ambition to win and to give there all in practice and meets. The swimming season starts from the end of August to mid November. Throughout that time the team travels to meets and give it their all to come out with the win. Two to three meets happen about once a week so a lot of enjoyment, fun, and competitive spirt is evident during that time. The team's coach is a Physical Ed. teacher Mrs. Simms. Even though the team seems dedicated to hard work, they have a lot of fun doing what they love and socializing with the swimmers that are helping them get better at what they do.

Typefaces

This Millennium High School font is written in a  bolded sans serif typeface. It is used as the heading of the student planner on all of the planners that everyone was given. This typeface is appropriate for its use because it is meant to be noticeable and pop right out, which is what it does.

This "December" in the student handbook is written in decorative text. It is big and bold and looks like someone sketched it in. This typeface is the typeface used for every month in the student planner. It is effective because although it is small, it still gets the job done and is aesthetically pleasing.

This is March in spanish and it is written next to the english writing of  each month. This is in script because each letter connects and it looks handwritten. This typeface is appropriate for its use because it is meant to be used as more of a subscript so it is small and simple but effective.

This "Jordan" name is the brand of a line of sneakers created by Michael Jordan. This is a more decorative typeface because it is designed to be simple. This is on the tongue of the shoe so it is meat to be slightly hidden but still there, therefore the typeface is appropriate here.

This is the watermark on a picture on my wall. It is written in script and although it is typed out, it looks like she write it herself. This is meant to be hidden enough that it doesn't mess up the image, but still noticeable so no one copywrites her pictures. This typeface is appropriate because it looks like a signature.

This typeface is for everyday of the week in the student planners. It is written in slab serif with very thin lines. It is meant to be noticeable to remind the student so of the day of the week, but it not supposed to draw the eye to that particular area. This typeface is perfectly appropriate for that.

I have a beautiful connection with the script font. The smoothness of the writing resembles the way I carry myself. Also the fact that the script font is not bold or eye catching, its more laid back like me I usually go with the follow and that is exactly how script is created. One final connection is that script gives off a fancy feel and I see my as Fancy.

The I that is on the "ground" of the picture resembles a stick figure person,  who is dead and laying down because of death. And the word killed correlates well with it.

Before

AFTER

Concept:
I used my brother for this project because of his youthful appearance in relation with wearing a hoodie. In todays society many citizens view hoodies as a sign of rebellion of a stereotype for a thug. I wanted to be able to prove that not all people who wear hoodies are thugs, especially in the Black race. The use of his face conveys much innocence and makes people believe he wouldn't do anything that is thug like. This counters the connection people make with hoodies and thugs. I also used the background of buildings to express how realistic the picture is, and how it is and actual problem in the world.
Transformation:
I started off with just the background and then I used the other picture of my brother.
I used the selections tool to select the outline of my brother and copy pasted him onto the original background.
After I pasted 3 more picture of just him and I gave them all different opacities and I used scaling to make one bigger than the other.
Only to the background I used exposure changes and curves.

While using Photoshop the most frustrating aspect of the program was, the transition from slide to slide and the duplication of layers. These aspects were ultimately what i needed most in my project to complete it. It took me many days and lots of questions for my neighbors and Ms. Lee. I of course tried myself to figure out what to do when i got stuck with transition but over time frustration would build up, and little progression was made. I am appreciative of the aid i got, for it resulted to a beautiful photoshop project. After the project the tool i used most was the duplication layer tool, and after a lot of practice it began to be most confident with is the duplication tool. To better my project i wish the tool that i could use better would be the paint bucket tool, this would've4 allowed a more concise and clear project. Next time i want to create a project having to do about myself.

What inspires me?

Ordinary People

This video inspires be because it is a great representation of the ordinary person's life. Ordinary people inspire me because they alone are the majorette, and they are the ones who go through daily life and life struggles with bills and children, yet they don't gain recognition like celebrities. With no reward, with no fame, with no attention from others, people still cope with dealing with life. The ordinary person may seem irrelevant and not accomplished by those with much more fame, simply because their dream they once had didn't meet reality.
Yes, everyone has a dream, to be big, to gain attention and satisfaction from others. To be rich and filled with wealth, to have children and their well being is safe at all times and provided for every second of their life. And for most ordinary people this dream they had, ultimately is hard to fulfill, that doesn't mean they are worthless. No, courageously instead they realize that the dream they had isn't obtainable and adapt to that realization. They don't give up but better yet they fight! They push to do the best they possibly can. With no farm or motivation. That is what I consider truly self driven.
Me for example, my dream of becoming a professional basketball player gets slimmer as the year progresses. Now if I don't fulfill that dream, does that make me worthless, does that make me undesirable, does that make me weak? no, instead it inspires me to do more, it motivates me to actually fight for a stable future. The most inspiring thing about the ordinary people is how many of them there are. Especially the older ones who are ins tread rich with fame and money, are rich with experiences and knowledge. That is what keeps me positive and inspires me, just people in general.

My project

This is my final and my progress picture for my project.
My process in creating my letter was first brainstorming what my concept and letter was going to be. Finally, when I came up with my idea, I then had to brainstorm ideas for different types of materials I wanted to use. I decided on using the chalk for the smoke and the markers for the borders and nose. I found this process helpful because it let me have an organized project and I finished it in time for the deadline.
I arrived this this concept because I really thought trying to make smoke would be a challenging but fun idea. I then chose the letter "s" for smoke but also because I thought it tied into the concept well.
The most challenging aspect of this project for me was the blending of the smoke and the red background. I wanted to make the smoke as realistic as possible, without being messy. This was challenging because the media I chose to use is very messy and can spread to unwanted parts of the page of i wasn't careful.
I am incredibly satisfied with my project. I really liked how the nose and the smoke came out. I also liked how the s still looked like an s but it also fits into the picture naturally.
If I could change one thing, I think I would fix the nose. The nose was really hard for me to draw so I think o would focus more on the nose and maybe use a different material for it. Otherwise, I'm very happy with my project
